NEW DELHI, Nov 12: The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Wednesday held a high-level security meeting following the terrorist car explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on the evening of November 10, 2025. The Cabinet unanimously adopted a resolution condemning the attack in the strongest possible terms, calling it a heinous act perpetrated by anti-national forces.
According to an official statement issued by the government, the Cabinet expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. Before the meeting commenced, the members of the Cabinet observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives in the attack.
“The country has witnessed a heinous terror incident, perpetrated by anti-national forces, through a car explosion near the Red Fort on the evening of November 10, 2025. The explosion resulted in multiple fatalities and caused injuries to several others,” the resolution read.
Reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to national security, the Cabinet emphasized India’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. The resolution underscored the government’s determination to ensure that those responsible for the attack — including the perpetrators, their collaborators, and their sponsors — are brought to justice without delay.
The Cabinet also expressed appreciation for the timely response of security agencies, local authorities, and citizens, who displayed remarkable courage and presence of mind in the immediate aftermath of the explosion. “Their dedication and sense of duty are deeply commendable,” the statement said, highlighting the swift actions of emergency responders and medical personnel in providing aid to the injured.
In a gesture of solidarity, the Cabinet also acknowledged the messages of support and sympathy pouring in from foreign governments and international organizations, reflecting global condemnation of the terrorist attack.
The meeting, which lasted for over an hour, reviewed the current security situation in the capital and directed that the ongoing investigation be conducted with utmost urgency and professionalism.
