Road Safety Lecture Organized at Doon Bhawani School
May 16, 2025, Dehradun! On the occasion of the 8th United Nations Global Road Safety Week (May 12–18, 2025), a road safety lecture was organized at Doon Bhawani International School, Ranipokhari, by Sanjay Orthopaedic Spine and Maternity Centre, Dehradun.
Padma Shri awardee and orthopaedic surgeon Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay emphasized that driving has become a daily necessity, without which essential activities such as education, business, entertainment, or tourism cannot function. One needs to travel by vehicle every day, whether driving themselves or being driven by someone else. Keeping this in mind, Dr. B. K. S. Sanjay appealed to the government to include road safety education in school curriculum and to the students to spread this message with their friends and family.
India and International Book of Records holder, orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Gaurav Sanjay, stated that using a mobile phone while driving can be fatal. He advised that wearing helmets while riding two-wheelers and using seat belts while driving four-wheelers is essential. Students has been given pledge to follow the traffic rules.
School founder Mr. B. P. Uniyal encouraged the students to learn and follow the rules shared by the guests. He also extended congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Sanjay and his institution on the silver jubilee year of their road safety awareness campaign.
The program was attended by the school principal Mrs. Pushpa Uniyal, academic advisor Mr. D. P. Badoni, assistant director Mr. Saket Uniyal, as well as Sonia, Lakshmi, Abhishek, Swati, and other school faculty members.
