Pattan, 29 Oct : The residents of Ussan Pattan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday morning staged a protest against the alleged failure of Jalshakti department for not providing drinking water to the residents .
Protesters said that the Jalshakti department has failed to solve the drinking water problem of the area from years,we the residents are reeling under acute water shortage for last month and today we came out on roads.
Sources told that the protesters assembled at main chowk Ussan and blocked the Goushbugh-Pattan road to highlight their genuine grievance , thus affecting the traffic movement for half an hour.
The protestors were chanting slogans against Jalshakti department and said that we brought the matter into the notice of concerned authorities many times but nothing has been done so far.
The residents of the area are appealing to higher authorities and concerned department for redressal of their grievance as soon as possible so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
