Baramulla, April 21: The town, which was once a hotbed of violence, enthusiastically welcomed Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi on Sunday for the shooting of his upcoming drama ‘Ground Zero.’
According to sources close to the project informed Kashmir Despatch, Emraan Hashmi will be portraying the role of a BSF officer in this film, which chronicles the journey of BSF 2nd in Command Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. The movie delves into Dubey’s two-year-long investigation, culminating in the encounter of Ghazi Baba, the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad and the mastermind behind the attack.
The old town of Baramulla was transformed into a festive setting as a Bollywood crew arrived to shoot the Kashmir portion for the upcoming OTT platform Amazon Prime.
The festive atmosphere turned into a joyous celebration as actor Emraan Hashmi entered the once violence-stricken area.
Eyewitnesses informed Kashmir Despatch that people of all ages came out of their homes to witness the Bollywood movie shoot firsthand.
A local resident of Baramulla, Aamir, told Kashmir Despatch that as soon as news spread about the movie shoot, the town was instantly packed with people, who eagerly rushed to the spot.
Avtar Singh, another local, mentioned that it wasn’t just a shooting day for the Bollywood movie, but also a memorable event for the locals, who were seen capturing the moment in selfie mode.
Meanwhile, sources from the production team revealed to Kashmir Despatch that the film will showcase the actor on a dangerous mission sent to Kashmir to handle a sensitive situation.
The film is being produced under the production banner of Excel Entertainment by actor-producer Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. This collaboration marks the first partnership between Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and Emraan Hashmi. The film is directed by Vijay Deoskar and Tejas Prabha.
