Veena Pandita expressed grief on the demise of, Aga Ashraf Ali

Srinagar August 08: Chairperson JKBOSE Veena Pandita has expressed grief at the sad demise of eminent academician and former chairman JKBOSE Dr Aga Ashraf Ali. Aga , as Dr Aga Ashraf Ali was popularly known, made enormous contribution towards the cause of education in Jammu and Kashmir.


In a statement to Kashmir Despatch, she said, Agha served as Inspector of Schools Kashmir, Principal Teacher’s Training College, Professor at University of Kashmir, Commissioner of education, 1st Chairman of JKBOSE (1975-1980) before retiring as Commissioner Higher Education J&K in 1982. He will be always remembered for the positive changes and reformations he brought in the education setup in Jammu and Kashmir. The demise of Dr Aga Ashraf Ali is a great loss to the academic fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir. May God grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
