Vice-Chancellor KU pays maiden visit to North Campus

Inaugurates 2-day workshop on Research Methodology

Baramulla, June 01: Vice Chancellor of University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofer Khan inaugurated a two-day multidisciplinary workshop on Research Methodology during her maiden visit to the varsity’s North Campus on Wednesday.

The workshop is being organized by the Research Centre of the north campus.
The Vice-Chancellor who was the Chief Guest on the said occasion was accompanied by Registrar, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor, Executive Engineer and other officers of the University.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Nilofer Khan congratulated the North campus, University of Kashmir for organizing the research workshop on the vital topic.

She threw light on various issues related to research and assured the Director, North campus, Prof. Pervez Ahmed that the campus will be given full support by the authorities of the University.

Prof. Farooq Masoodi, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Kashmir who was the Guest of honour joined online.

Asserting that both research methodology and data analysis were very vital components of a good research, Prof Farooq Masoodi urged young scholars to ready themselves for collaborative and interdisciplinary research.

Registrar of the University, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir also spoke on the occasion and stated that research scholars should give something back to society through their research endeavors. The event was also graced by Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Pirzada Mumtaz Ahmad who on behalf of the District Administration Baramulla assured full support to the campus for all the developmental activities.

The Resource persons for the said workshop comprises of eminent academicians including Prof. Zafer A. Reshi, Dean Biological Sciences, University of Kashmir, Prof. Mohammad Sultan Bhat from Department of Geography and Disaster management, University of Kashmir, Prof. Mohammad Aslam, Former Dean School of Languages, Central University of Kashmir, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Darzi, Director, HRDC, University of Kashmir and Prof. Fareeda Abdullah Khan, Former Dean and Head, Faculty of Education, Jammia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.


Prof. Pervez Ahmed, Director of the campus welcomed the guests in his welcome address and focused on role of research in today’s era. Dr. Qazi Khursheed, Research Coordinator briefed the participants about the workshop.

The Vice Chancellor also visited the departments of the campus and inspected all the facilities available for the students including labs, library and research centre.

In addition to this, the Vice Chancellor also visited the lower Delina site of the campus and inspected the hostels where she had a brief interaction with the teaching as well as non-teaching fraternity of the campus.

While interacting with the faculty and students, Vice-Chancellor assured full support for all the academic and developmental activities of the North Campus.
