Srinagar : Jammu Kashmir Apni Party Youth President district Bandipora Wasif Majeed Mir has expressed serious concern over alarming increase in drug abuse among the youth of the valley. Which is destroying their lives and shattering scores of families.
He said that the people of the valley has to come together against this menace before it turns uglier and the situation goes out of hands.
Wasif said that growing drug abuse among the youth is fast emerging as a major challenge and eating into the vitals of our society and future.
The Apni Party District youth president Wasif Mir urged every section of society including parents, teachers, Imams, preachers, social activists and doctors to come forward and work for the awareness and eradication of drug addiction in Kashmir.
Besides, Wasif said that the need of the hour calls for effective policing against narcotic smuggling, besides having more drug de-addiction centers in the state. He said that the challenge has to be confronted at multiple levels, and of them all basic awareness at school, college and university level is a must.
