Sopore, Dec 06: A week-long “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” program organized by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) concluded at Dak Banglow Sopore.
The program was initiated as a training session for a batch of Anganwadi Workers (AWWs) under the “Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi” initiative. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, this program integrates early childhood care, nutrition, and education into a unified framework aimed at fostering holistic child development.
The initiative emphasizes a dual approach, ensuring optimal nutrition for children aged 3 to 6 years while simultaneously promoting early literacy, cognitive development, and essential life skills through age-appropriate activities at Anganwadi centers. Special emphasis was placed on empowering Anganwadi Workers with strategies to conduct interactive educational activities, effectively monitor children’s nutritional and developmental progress, and encourage active community participation. The training highlighted the significance of using a play-based approach to make learning engaging and impactful for young minds.
The chief guest at the event was CDPO Zaingeer G.M. Dar, alongside master trainer Gazala Gul, supervisors Rubeena Akher, Tabasum Afzal, and Roshan Ara, as well as health and nutrition mobilizer Shabnam Ramzan.
