Living conditions of Stranded Students continues to deteriorate, left at God’s mercy: Nasir Khuehami

J&K Students Association here on today asked Jammu and Kashmir government that why cannot it bring back stranded students from outside State, the way UP government Evacuated it’s 7500 students in special buses. In a Statement issued, Spokesperson of Association Nasir Khuehami said that, the decision of the UP government to send 250 buses to Evaucvate it’s 7500 stranded students and drop them to their native districts from Kota in Rajasthan must be replicated by Jammu and Kashmir administration to bring back the stranded people across the country.

He said that JK Administration doesn’t utter a single word till now about the Evucavtion of the Students stranded outside J&K. What stops J&K administration to follow the same pattern to bring back its stranded Students, When indian govt can bring back their students back form epicentre of this deadly pandemic, why not from least hit countries with Covid19, 14 day qurantine has turned into a month of misery for the kashmiri students stranded in Rajasthan, If govt can arrange planes to bring back citizens from around the world, why can’t they arrange buses for these students to get back to their respective homes, he said.

Khuehami said that Students are facing hardships due to Strict lockdown, Most of stranded students are facing immense difficulties, running short of money Stock & essential Commodities. Their living conditions continues to deteriorate and they are left there on God’s Mercy. The mental anguish that comes with staying in place far away from home is hard to explain. I don’t know why JK administration hesitate to bring back these stranded people, he added. Khuehami Requested Home Minister Amit Shah and JK Administration to direct Concerned officials to act Swiftly and provide necessary assistance to J&K students stranded in different parts of Country and to initiate their safe evacuation at an earliest.

Joint Secretary of Association, Khadim Khan said we have been demanding the evacuation of stranded J&K students, on UP like pattern for the last three weeks. Students are helplessly waiting at different locations for some mode of transportation to reach at their homes. Khadim also questioned the Union Territory administration over it’s lackdish Approach, adding that JK administration seems reluctant to adopt the UP Govt like policy. He said that immediate measures & special arrangements should be made for the safe evacuation of Kashmiri students stranded outside J&K.
