Ganderbal : A powerful windstorm on Monday toppled trees and damaged houses in parts of Kashmir, leaving one woman injured also.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said A 25-year-old woman identified as Shakeela Bano wife of Firdous Ahmad Mir of Lar Ganderbal sustained injuries after strong winds damaged rooftop of guardroom of Ziyazat Shah Sadiq Qalandar.

The injured woman was immediately shifted to Ganderbal hospital for treatment reports added.

Reports from other parts reaching said the windstorm damaged rooftops of houses and electric transmission lines across Kashmir districts, besides power supply was snapped due to damage to electric poles and transmission lines after the windstorm in many parts.

At several areas heavy hailstorm also wreaked havoc on fruit bearing orchard trees while the traffic movement on interior roads were also halted after many trees fell on ground due to strong winds.
