This winter’s first snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir is likely to occur coming Wednesday and Thursday, that is November 6 and 7 due to a western disturbance approaching the state.
This early winter snowfall is likely to result in a major dip in temperatures.
Pertinently, a major early winter snowfall had occurred had happened in Kashmir valley in 2018 on November 4 and 5.
Analysis of multiple weather data by Ziraat Times indicates that snowfall would start in the northern and eastern parts of Kashmir region Tuesday night, mainly in Gurez, Kargil, Zanaskar areas of Kashmir, including Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass, Pir ki Gali, Banihal Pass, Sinthan Top, Margan Pass and Zojila Pass.
On Thursday heavy to moderate snowfall is likely across Kashmir’s Sindh valley, north Kashmir areas of Kupwara, Handwara, Rafiabad, Bandipora, whole upper and karera areas of Pirpanjal range and South Kashmir.
There is significant chances of snowfall in Srinagar and other plain areas of Kashmir valley late Wednesday and early Thursday.
In south of Kashmir, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, upper Doda, upper Reasi, upper Ramban would also experience moderate to heavy snowfall on both Wednesday and Thursday, while the plains shall witness rainfall on the two days.
The upper reaches of Poonch and Rajouri districts would receive snowfall from Wednesday to Thursday.
Razdan Pass, Sadhna Pass, Pir ki Gali, Banihal Pass, Sinthan Top, Margan Pass and Zojila Pass are likely to get snow-bound and remain shut on these days.
The lower parts of Uri, Poonch, Rajouri, Ramban, Doda, Udhampur and plains of Jammu would receive rains.
