Woman allegedly dies due to medical negligence at GMC Bla.: ADC Sopore to lead the district audit committee.

Baramulla, Nov. 30: Days after the death of a young lady after delivery due to alleged negligence by doctors at GMC Baramulla, the administration has formed a committee led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina.

An official informed Kashmir Despatch that district authorities in Baramulla have formed a district audit committee, which will be led by ADC Sopore, Shabir Ahmad Raina.

The officer stated that the committee is expected to deliver its findings to Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, within the next 15 days.

On Wednesday, family members of the deceased Dilshada Akthar (32) gathered outside the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Baramulla to register their protest against GMC Baramulla.

They shouted slogans against the hospital administration and doctors and demanded justice.

The protesting family and relatives of the deceased woman held the hospital authorities responsible for their daughter’s death.

Speaking to Kashmir Despatch, ADC Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina stated that after numerous allegations emerged against GMC Baramulla regarding the alleged medical negligence, the Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, took note and formed a committee consisting of eight members, with him as the leader.

ADC Sopore mentioned that as soon as he received the order, he started working on it, as they have to submit a report to DC Baramulla within 15 days.

ADC Sopore added that they will be meeting with all members tomorrow, and letters have already been issued to all the concerned sections involved in this incident.

He expressed his hope that they will submit the report within the given time so that justice can be delivered.

He stated that the committee includes a few doctors, as well as technical experts, who are part of the team ensuring the successful operation within the given time.
