Woman among 2 killed in Uri cross border shelling

Uri, Nov 13 : Two persons were killed another injured in a cross border shelling in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday afternoon.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a woman among two persons were killed as india and Pakistan armies exchanged gunfire along the line of control LOC in north Kashmir’s Uri sector.

In the shelling one person was also injured besides four residential houses were damaged.

Confirming this cross border shelling to Kashmir Despatch , an official said that two civilians lost their lives whom he identified as Farooqa Begum a resident of Hajipeer sector and Tayib Ahmad Mir a resident of Kamalkote sector of Uri.

The officer further added that a civilian identified as Nazir Ahmad was injured in the shelling and was rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment. He said firing from both sides is on.
