Ganderbal, June 12 : In a tragic incident, a woman drowned in a power canal in the Thune Kangan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Nusrat, wife of Riyaz Ahmad Jatla, a resident of Thune Kangan.
Initial reports suggest that the woman drowned in the canal, though the exact cause of the incident has not been officially confirmed.
Soon after the incident, Kangan Police launched a rescue operation with active support from local residents. The search was still underway when this report was filed.
