Woman gives birth to triplets in Kupwara area of north Kashmir

A 38- year- old woman has successfully delivered triplets at District hospital Handwara in north Kashmir.

The woman who gave birth to triplets was identified as Aateeqa Begum, wife of Mohammed Sadeeq  resident of  Badnambal  village in Kupwara.

This female patient was referred from PHC Kralpora to  Handwara  Hospital and admitted in this hospital under MRD No 4092. This was her 6th delivery. Patient was under supervision of Dr Rais Ahmed consultant Gynecologist, Dr Arifa, and  Labour Room team.

It was  normal delivery, hospital sources told KNT adding among the three one is baby boy.

Medical  Superintendent District Hospital Handwara Dr. Nissar Ahmed Wani  said all the babies are in good health.

“The mother along with her all the three babies are doing well, but as a precautionary measure we have referred them to Children’s Hospital Srinagar for specialized treatment because they (babies) were under weight,” he said. (KNT)
