Woman injured in cross border shelling in Uri

Srinagar, June 12 : A woman was injured after India and Pakistan armies exchanged gunfire along line of control LOC in Hajipeer sector of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a 32 year old woman identified as Parveen Begum wife of Shabir Ahmad Shiekh of Nambla Fatawali sustained splinter injury in the shelling.

Reports said few vehicles and a resident house was also damaged in the cross border shelling.

An official confirmed to Kashmir Despatch said a woman recieved minor Injury and was rushed to nearby hospital for treatment. He said firing has been stopped from both sides.

Pertinently, five residential houses were damaged last week in Hajipeer sector after neighbours exchanged gunfire along the line of control LOC.
