Woman jumps into river Jehlum in Srinagar, critical

Srinagar, Mar 02: A 25-year-old woman jumped into river Jehlum near Zero Bridge area of Rajbah here on Monday.

The woman was timely rescued by local fisherman and members of police who immediately shifted her to SMHS hospital where her condition is stated to be critical.

Confirming the incident, a police officer told GNS that the woman (name withheld) jumped into the river in the afternoon.

“The fisherman and police personnel who were there rescued her. She was taken to hospital,” the officer said that the investigations have been initiated to find out the cause for the woman to take such an extreme step. (GNS)
