Date:

Ganderbal, May 8 : District Industries Centre (DIC) Ganderbal, under the directions of Director Industries & Commerce, Kashmir, organized a Workshop cum Awareness Camp aimed at fortifying the business ecosystem in the region. The camp, spearheaded by General Manager (GM), DIC Ganderbal, witnessed active participation from unit holders, including Presidents of Industrial Associations.

The primary objective of the camp was to disseminate knowledge about the incentive schemes offered by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, with a specific focus on the Department of Industry & Internal Trade’s (DPIIT’s) New Central Sector Scheme (NCSS-2021) for industrial development of J&K. A resource person from DPIIT PIU team Kashmir elucidated the benefits of the scheme, catering to new units, existing units, and those undergoing expansion. These incentives encompass a range of benefits, including 30/50% Capital Investment Incentive (CII), 6% Capital Interest Subvention (CIS), 100% GST Linked Incentive (GSTLI), and 5% Working Capital Interest Subvention (WCIS). Furthermore, participants were briefed on the requisite documents for registration and the application process for availing the incentives.

A detailed question and answer session fostered meaningful dialogue between DIC officials and unit holders, providing a platform for unit holders to voice their suggestions and address issues at the apex level. The GM, attentively listening to the grievances of the unit holders, pledged unwavering support to ensure the efficient functioning of each unit. Unit holders were encouraged to view DIC as their one-stop solution for all business-related matters, fostering a conducive business environment in Jammu and Kashmir.

The camp culminated with a vote of thanks, and on-the-spot registrations for NCSS were facilitated for units with prepared documents, streamlining the process and empowering industrial unit holders to avail the benefits of the scheme promptly.
