Cleanliness drive launched at tourist village Shikargah

PULWAMA, Mar 3: The wildlife department in Tral area of South Kashmir on Friday conducted an awareness programme ahead of World Wildlife Day, which is being celebrated on 3rd March every year, globally.
The programme was held at tourist village, Shikargah Tral, and was attended by scores of students from local govt school, who were holding banners to spread message about the importance of wildlife.
On the occasion, Wildlife Warden, Pulwama/Shopian Range, Intisaar Suhail was the chief guest, who highlighted the importance of wildlife, and asked students to ensure its protection.
Talking to Kashmir Despatch, Intisaar Suhail said that the motive to conduct awareness program on World Wildlife Day was to make students aware about the presence of specific wild animals in their respective areas, and the ways to protect them.
Meanwhile, a cleanliness drive was also conducted in Shikargah village, where the event was scheduled, in which garbage was cleaned up jointly by the students and employees of wildlife.
Other than, Wildlife Warden, Range Officer Tral, Showkat Jan, Block Officers of Wildlife, & Teachers were also present during the programme.
