Yatra 2023: Commissioner Secretary Rural Development And Panchayati Raj Visits Baltal

Srinagar, June 14 : Commissioner Secretary to Govt. Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Ms. Mandeep Kaur (IAS) today took an extensive tour of Baltal in order to have a first-hand appraisal about the sanitation measures being undertaken by the department for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2023.

During the visit, the Commissioner Secretary was accompanied by Director Rural Sanitation, Charandeep Singh (JKAS), ACD Ganderbal, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Bhat (JKAS),  Executive Engineer REW Ganderbal, Noor Mohammad Magray, BDO Gund, Mohd. Arif Sheikh (JKAS), besides other officers and officials of RDD.

During her visit, the Commissioner Secretary inspected the installation of toilet units being done at Baltal Base Camp and the Tent City. Besides, she took on-the-spot stock of the progress of Solid Waste Management Plan & installation of sustainable Langar with Biogas Plant at Baltal Base Camp.

While inspecting the sanitation arrangements being put in place, the Commissioner Secretary expressed her satisfaction with the pace of progress and stressed upon completion of all pending sanitation arrangements on war footing basis by the end of this week.

Meanwhile the Commissioner Secretary had arrived to attend a high level review meeting presided over by the Hon’ble LG, J&K at JKTDC Sonamarg today with all the Administrative Secretaries & HODs of various departments involved in execution of various facilities/arrangements for SANJY-2023.
