BANDIPORA, Mar 13: A 22-year-old youth  died of electric shock in Bhutto village of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday afternoon.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said a 22 year old youth died due to electrocution at his home in Bandipora village. The family carried the victim on a stretcher and blocked Bandipora-Srinagar road allegedly after being denied an ambulance by the hospital authorities.

The family had reportedly requested the authorities to provide them an ambulance but their request was ‘turned down’.

Meanwhile Medical Superintendent District hospital Bandipora, Dr Sheikh Mushtaq said that the youth died on arrival. “The ambulance was not available in hospital at that time. We asked the family to wait for 20 minutes but they refused and carried the dead body outside the hospital and blocked the road. We sometimes provide ambulances to the dead only if other patients do not suffer.”
