Srinagar, Aug 15: As the J&K Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in his I-day address asserted that the special status granted to Jammu and Kashmir in the constitution of India should be maintained, the main opposition party National Conference Saturday alleged that Mufti has compromised everything with the BJP and now the propaganda is being created in New Delhi against the special status of the Jammu and Kashmir.
“For the interest of the power Mufti Sahab has compromised everything with the BJP. People should know that Probganda is being created in New Delhi against the special status of Jammu and Kashmir,” NC senior leader Ali Mohmad Sagar told a news agency here over phone.
He said Chief Minister Mufti’s every single promise whether it was on revocation of AFSPA, talks of separatist leaders with the government of India all has proved false. “Be it the promise of AFSPA revocation, dialogue with separatists, opening of additional trade routes, the rehabilitation of flood victims or of ensuring that BJP does not continue its nefarious mission against Article 370, Mufti has broken every single promise that he made to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he alleged.
He said the present dispensation has a clear and brazen agenda of polarizing the state for the respective, ulterior political motives of the coalition partners. “Mufti government cannot now befool the people of Jammu and Kashmir as they are aware of the dangerous polices of PDP government. “We are seeing that the youth are being pushed to the wall and are being targeted by the government forces day in and day out,” Sagar said.
Sagar added that the National Conference would never allow anyone to divide the state for petty political interests and would continue to safeguard the special status guaranteed under Article 370. “Nobody can dare divide this State. We will fight all such covert designs with full might and conviction,” he said.
