10 houses gutted in Gurez fire mishap

Bandipora, Oct 11: Atleast ten residential houses were damaged in a fire mishap in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora District during Saturday night.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch said massive fire broke out in Baduab Tulail in Gurez sector on Saturday night resulting in damage to atleast ten residential houses.

Reports said soon after the fire incident the local and fire tenders rushed to spot to douse the flames but couldn’t save whole property.

A police official told that three houses were completely gutted while as seven other were partially damaged in the fire incident.

He said “However, all the people residing in the houses were evacuated safely and no loss of life or injury was reported”.

He further said that ‘Chimney’ is believed to be the cause behind the fire, however police registered a case pertaining to the incident and investigations are on.
