Now 18 Local Militants Active In North Kashmir: DIG

Baramulla: Deputy Inspector General of Police North Range Suleman Chowdary on Saturday said 19 local militants are active in the northern region of Kashmir.

DIG in a press conference accrording to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent said that the number of militants has deceased in the northern region of Kashmir and now only 18 local militants are active in this part of Kashmir.


DIG said that security forces are alert and are ready to tackle any surprise.


DIG Baramulla accompanied SSP Abdul Qayoom other officials in Army and CRPF while sharing the details over the arrest of local militant Junaid Farooq Pandith of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit in a press brief said a Naka was laid in Tapper area by a joint team of forces following special information and in the Naka Junaid was apprehended on Friday.


DIG said one Chinese Pistol, 30 live rounds, and other ammunition were recovered from his possession.
