
Casualty toll rises to 8 in cross border shelling across JK

Srinagar, Nov 13: Two more soldiers were killed and three injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Gurez sector on Friday, taking the toll of casualties to 8 across Jammu and Kashmir.
An official told Kashmir Despatch that two soldiers were killed and three sustained injuries in the firing from across the border in Gurez sector.
“The injured personnel are being evacuated while a befitting response is being given to the Pakistani firing,” he added.
Pertinently, Two soldiers and three civilians were killed and one civilian was critically injured in the heavy mortar shelling and firing by Pakistan along the LoC in the Uri, while a BSF sub-inspector who was injured in firing along LoC in Tootmar Gali Handwara succumbed to the wounds.
