The Sopore administration Tuesday said that only 25 people will be allowed to participate in Eid-ul-Fitr congregational prayers while maintaining proper social distancing techniques.
Addressing a press conference as per Kashmir Despatch Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Parvaiz Sajad Ganaie, SDPO Sopore Raja Majid said that 25 people will be allowed to participate in the congregational prayers on Eid-ul-Fitr in view of the rising cases of COVID-19.
“No massive gatherings will be allowed as we are witnessing a surge in COVID-19 cases. People are supposed to support the administration in stopping the spread of deadly virus. A gathering of 25 people with adequate facilities of social distancing will be allowed,” they said.
The Sopore administration appealed people to be responsible citizens and not to have any massive gatherings on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Sopore administration also said that as per the previous order, public transport vehicles are allowed to ply at only 50% of their seating capacity.
