Bandipora, August 12 : A 46 days old militant was arrested in north Kashmir’s Bandipora District on Wednesday, officials said.

An official told Kashmir Despatch that a 46 days old militant identified as Aqib Mohammad Son of Ghulam Mohmmad Rather resident of Shahipora Kralgund was apprehended by a joint team of Army’s 13 RR, SOG and CRPF in Hajjin area of Bandipora.

A police officer also confirmed about this arrest to Kashmir Despatch and said, “Aqib had joined militant ranks ending June this year after he left home. He said a case has been registered and further investigation has been set into motion.

Pertinently, family members of 23-year old youth who had gone missing on June 27, had urged their son to return home and in this regard had also appealed government to help them in tracing him.
