BANDIPORA, Aug 10: The 65th Urs Mubarak of Syed Ghulam Rasool Shah popularly known as Nanga Baji Sahib concluded today in Malangam Bandipora Kashmir.
The Seven-day annual Urs of Nanga Baji Sahib (RA) started on 4th of August in Malangam Village at his residence, in district Bandipora. The Urs is celebrated annually at the residence of his grandson, Syed Wilayat Shah, who is popularly known among his Sajada Nisheen as Baji Sahab of Malangam.
On the last day of Urs Mubarak, recitation of the holy Quran, prayers and Naat have were conducted. On this occasion special prayers were held for the peace and tranquility in the Jammu and Kashmir and the country.
During the concluding ceremony, customary flag was hoisted at the shrine besides laying a special Chadder on the tomb of the Sufi Saint.
This Urs is celebrated in memory of late Sufi Saint Nanga Baji who has been a pious and spiritual personality. His resting place located at Malangam Bandipora is thronged by thousands of people from across the UT and country.
The Urs also attracts many people as there is a widespread belief that all the wishes of the devotees who pay obeisance here are fulfilled. His tomb is thronged by thousands of people from all over the country during the Urs Mubarak every year.
