Bandipora Woman Breaks Gender Barrier, Announces Assembly Election Bid

Bandipora, Sep 08: With the aim of women empowerment Hamida Jaan from Watapora area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has announced to contest assembly elections as an independent candidate pledged to serve Bandipora peoples if elected.

Speaking with the Kashmir Despatch Hamida Jaan, who is a doctor by profession alleged national political parties of Kashmir for leaving Kashmiri peoples to suffer, says they forget peoples after getting elected.

She also said that Bandipora lacks basic facilities in this 21st century and also said several areas of Bandipora which have tourism potential remain underdeveloped pledged to create employment opportunities for educated youths.

“Womens have been restricted to household chores, I want to break those traditional barriers. I hope people of Bandipora will give a chance to new faces so that this family politics will end,”.
