In the follow-up action of the case related to the seizure of 82.5 kgs of cocaine, which is one of the biggest hauls of Cocaine in Delhi, the Delhi Zonal Unit, Narcotics Control Bureau conducted searches, on 09.12.2024, at three locations in the Chandni Chowk, Delhi.
In the search, the NCB team recovered cash Rs 4,64,55,710/-, seized digital devices/documents and arrested one more person. The searches were conducted to collect details of the transactions and people involved. The cash seized has been taken over by the Income Tax Department.
During the investigation of the case, the names of some hawala operators emerged in the transfer of money connected to the trafficking of cocaine by a group of people based abroad.
The investigation conducted so far has revealed that this syndicate is being operated by a group of people based abroad through courier/small cargo services. The persons involved in this case are mainly 'Hawala Operators' and are anonymous to each other. Earlier in this case, 82.53 Kg of high-grade Cocaine was recovered from the Janakpuri and Nangloi area of Delhi on 14.11.2024 and four accused were arrested.
Further, the investigations to identify the backward and forward linkages of the drug syndicate and the source of the seized cocaine are underway with the help of foreign Drug Law Enforcement Agencies.
