Pending works should be completed immediately: NC Leader Irshad Rasool Kar

National Conference leader Irshad Rasool Kar Tuesday while highlighting the importance of Sub District hospital Sopore in North Kashmir said that all the 200 beds should be connected with the oxygen plant in view of the surge in covid cases and pending work should be completed on a war footing basis.
He said that till date only 50 beds out of 200 have been connected with the oxygen plant and it is serious issue.
“There is a surge in COVID-19 positive cases and right now supply of oxygen is the most important thing to save the lives of such patients. SDH Sopore comprises of 200 beds and out of 200 beds only 50 beds are connected with oxygen plant. The administration must connect all the 200 beds with oxygen plant so that no patient suffers,” Irshad added.
He said that there are ample chances of a greater surge in covid cases in coming days and we have to keep our hospitals and front line workers ready for that.
Irshad said that SDH Sopore holds a vital position in North Kashmir both for basic medical facilities as well as the facilities for patients suffering from COVID-19.
“The pending work in emergency ward, theater and lift needs to be done with immediate effect and the issue needs to be resolved as attendants can be seen carrying patients on their shoulders upto the wards. Common people are the first priority and every facility must be kept available for the patients,” Kar added.
He said that SDH caters to a large number of villages from other districts also, so government must provide adeqaute attention towards the hospital and the staff in order to tackle the huge rush during these covid times.
When contacted Chief Secretary said that the matter of SDH Sopore has already been discussed with Divisional commissioner Kashmir.
