ADC Sopore Cracks Down on Hospital Absentees and Initiates Reforms

Sopore, Dec 11: In a positive move towards improving the efficiency of healthcare services, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore, S.A. S.A.Raina conducted a night inspection of hospitals in Sub District Sopore.

As per Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the officer visited SDH Sopore, SDH Dangiwacha, and SDH Rohama during the nights of 10th and 11th December.

During the inspection, it was observed that several staff members were absent from duty.

As per the official details, at SDH Sopore, Dr Khursheed, Dr Nazia, Zahoor Ahmad, Tariq Manhas (JGN/MTS/HDF workers), Reyaz Ahmad, Ishfaq Ahmad, and Gh Nabi (theatre staff) were found to be absent. Similarly, at SDH Dangiwacha and SDH Rohama, M. Shafi and Fayaz Ahmad (sweepers) were absent.

Taking serious note of these absentees, Addl DC Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina issued directions for disciplinary action to be taken. He instructed the concerned BMOs to deduct one day’s salary from the absent staff and credit it to the District Red Cross Fund.

Additionally, the officer directed the BMOs to repair the washrooms and install new hardware, such as cisterns, wherever necessary.

Furthermore, BMO Sopore was instructed to allocate space for a canteen, which would benefit both attendants and patients.

To monitor the implementation of these directives, the BMOs were asked to submit an action-taken report within two days. Additionally, BMO Sopore was instructed to arrange a joint visit within a week, providing at least one day’s notice to the officer so that he could be present.
