Baramulla, Feb 12: Dr. Syed Aabid Rashid Shah IAS, Administrative Secretary of the Health & Medical Education Department J&K, convened a Public Darbar at Dak Baglow Baramulla on February 12, 2024.
The event, graced by the presence of District Development Commissioner Baramulla Minga Sherpa IAS and other dignitaries, saw the distribution of an event cheque totaling 87.81 lacs in favor of selected beneficiaries under the Integrated Sheep Development Scheme-ISDS.
Beneficiaries were meticulously chosen in adherence to approved guidelines and procedures outlined by the Department of Sheep Husbandry Kashmir District Organisation Baramulla.
The Integrated Sheep Development Scheme stands as a pivotal initiative aimed at revolutionizing Mutton and wool production in the picturesque valley of J&K.
Its mission is to empower and bolster the sheep-rearing community by extending financial assistance and essential resources to bolster their livelihoods.
Dr. Showkat Ahmad, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Baramulla, emphasized that the subsidy, under the Integrated Sheep Development Scheme, seeks to foster and elevate sheep farming among deserving individuals, thereby enriching their livelihoods and propelling the local agricultural sector’s overall growth.
He urged the youth to seize the opportunity and avail themselves of various income generation schemes facilitated by the Department, highlighting the ample scope for unemployed youth within this sector.
