After Two Months, Non Local workforce Stage Comeback

Date:

Srinagar, Oct 23 : The non-local labours are making their comeback to valley after a span of over 70 days of prevailing uncertainty. They had left Kashmir ahead of August 5 when Centre scrapped Article 370 and bifurcated the erstwhile State into two union territories (UTs).

According to wire service— the non-local work force can be seen cheerful on returning back to the valley after a gap of over 70 days.

With the rollback of tourist advisory and restoration of postpaid cellular services in valley, the non-locals who work under different categories from scrap collectors to barbers made their comeback to the valley amid ongoing uncertainty which resulted in the aftermath of abrogation of article 370 and bifurcation of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

“The beauty of Kashmir and its people are the only reasons why I came back, I really felt bad about the situation that valley went through post abrogation.” Shailendra Sharma, a non-local garbage. “Honestly, Kashmir is a best place to work and make a good money.”

He said that many people like him who are working in Kashmir were desperately praying for the safety of Kashmiris and escalation of tormenting situation which took place after rollback of special status. He further added, “The most of the news channels shows the bad side of Kashmir and ignore the goodness of Kashmir. I was helped by Kashmiris during the hue and cry which caused post abrogation.”

Tawfeeq Salmani a non-local barber told,” I left Kashmir a month ago and I could stop myself to come back here, I felt restless during my stay at home far away from Kashmir.”

He said that he contacted his Kashmiri friends several times but failed to do so due to the communication gag. He further added, “We can’t help Kashmir but at least we feel proud to standby with our Kashmiri brothers as their pain is our pain and their happiness is ours.”  (KNO)
