Armed forces have a free hand to operate with impunity: Iltija Mufti

Shocked to hear alleged killing of 3 missing labourers in a staged encounter

Srinagar, August 10: Iltija Mufti, daughter of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Monday said that armed forces have a free hand to operate with impunity in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a tweet, Iltija said, “Shocked to hear about reports of 3 missing labourers reportedly killed in a staged encounter at Shopian. Armed forces have a free hand to operate with impunity. Explains why bodies are allowed to decompose at unknown locations. Probes into recent encounters must be ordered,”.

Pertinently, 21 days after three labourers from Rajouri went missing from Kashmir’s Shopian district, the families of the missing labourers on Sunday registered an FIR at Peeri Police Post, in Rajouri district.
