Army organises free medical camp in Kupwara

Kupwara : A free medical camp was organised by Indian Army in collaboration with PHC, Kalaroos for the Gujjar & Bakarwal Community of Nunwani village with an aim to reduce hardships of the economically backward and remote tribal community, where access to health care has always been a challenge.

A joint team of five doctors (04 male & 01 female) and nursing staff from the Army and civil where made available under one roof for free medical check-ups, dispensing free medicines and rendering advice in maintaining good health and nutritional lifestyle to all patients who turned up for health check-up and consultation.

The medical camp witnessed a turnout of 155 patients, including 80 men, 50 women and 25 children, who received much needed medical consultation as well as free medicines.

Along with this, an awareness program was also organised for the visitors on the issues related to General health & life style diseases. Asha Workers were also present to assist during the free medical camp.

The response from the locals was overwhelming and appealed to the Army to organize more such camps in future.

Such initiatives by the Army will go a long way to promote health, peace, progress and wellbeing among the masses.
