Arun Gupta re- elected as JCCI president

JAMMU, Apr 24: Arun Gupta, the sitting president of the Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) has been re-elected as body’s president for the next term in its election held on Monday.

For the new team, Anil Gupta is declared elected as Senior Vice President, Rajiv Gupta as Junior Vice President, Manish Gupta is declared as Secretary General and Rajesh Gupta as Treasurer.

In an official communiqué issued here the Election President Shiv Pratap Gupta declared the election results held on Sunday for electing new office bearers of JCCI. Interestingly, the existing office bearers’ team has got almost been re-elected.

Arun Gupta secured 1522 votes over his nearest rival former JCCI president Rakesh Gupta who received 1148 votes with 15 invalid votes. Anil Gupta secured 1697 votes and was declared elected as Sr. Vice President and defeated his nearest rival Surinder Mahajan who secured 862 votes. The third candidate Rajinder Gupta received 116 votes with 12 invalids.

Rajiv Gupta got 1632 votes and defeated Ashu Gupta who secured 1017 votes with 38 votes declared invalid. For the post of Secretary General, Manish Gupta got 1467 votes registering a win over his nearest rival Deepak Aggarwal who secured 1013 votes, Ajay Langar stood third with 183 votes with 24 invalids.

Rajesh Gupta was declared elected as Secretary who secured 1291 votes while Mukesh Gupta (Mantu) secured 513 votes and Raj Gupta secured 847 votes. 36 votes were termed as invalid. For the Post of Treasurer, Manik Gupta secured 926 votes, and Rajesh Gupta secured 1747 votes. Rajesh Gupta was declared elected as Treasurer.

The Election President thanked the team of his election Committee comprising of Manmohan Singh, Vijay Gupta, Anil Gupta, Kulbhushan Gupta and the Polling Staff for their contribution to conducting the peaceful, free, fair and transparent elections. The election President also thanked all the worthy members who participated in such a large number by casting their valuable votes and elected their future leader for the term 2023-2025.
