Chadoora family alleges their sheep died due to doctor’s negligence; inquiry ordered

BUDGAM, Apr 24: A family from the Sogam area of Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district protested against the Animal Husbandry Department, alleging that their sheep died due to the concerned doctor’s negligence.

The family alleged that their sheep, worth around Rs 60,000, was ill, and when they contacted the concerned doctor, he did not attend to their calls, which led to the unfortunate incident. They demanded that the negligent doctor be terminated from service.

The incident has raised concerns among the locals who are calling for better accountability and responsibility from the Animal Husbandry Department. The authorities have assured the public that appropriate action will be taken to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

In response to the allegations, the Block Sheep Officer assured that a committee would be formed to investigate the matter and submit a report within 24 hours. If the officer is found guilty of negligence, strict action will be taken against him by the concerned department, the officer said—(KNO)
