NEW DELHI, Feb 13: Kashmir Youth Entrepreneurs Federation (KYEF) on Wednesday called on Suresh Prabhu Civil Aviation Minister at Delhi Parliament.
The delegation was led by KYEF President Babar Chowdhary. During the session Babar apprised the Minister about the recent situation happened at IGI airport New Delhi where Umrah pilgrims were stranded for days and no help was extended to them by any authorities.
“Also the rescheduled tickets were given to them after 10 days as it was not possible to make around 600 passengers to stay for 10 days at Delhi,” Babar briefed the minister adding that the private Airlines were doing black marketing under nose of the government and nobody was taking a call on this serious issue.
“Its high time that the concerned Ministry should take note of it and put a cap on air tickets in light of the Supreme Court ruling of 2014 and 2017. These rulings have not been implemented till date. Also under Udaan Scheme there is an order passed by the Center Government in which Rs 2500 will be charged for one hour flight and Rs 1500 for 30 minutes flight,” Babar told the minister.
The president KYEF observed that these orders and circulars are only on papers and nothing has been implemented on the ground sofar.
According to a statement issued here, the president KYEF said that the civil aviation minister on spot ordered to create a ‘situation centre’ to be established at Delhi airport dedicated for the passengers of Jammu and Kashmir.
At the end Babar invited the minister to Kashmir and have a one-on-one meeting with trade bodies especially with the tourism federation so that the government of India gets a ground view and take some concrete solution on the issue.
The KYEF will be organising this conclave and ministry has given a rough date in April, said Babar adding that civil aviation ministry’s office will be in touch with KYEF for this conclave.
For any passenger complaints the civil aviation minister has provided a mobile number to be used to post text messages on whatzup only. “Till a proper solution is found to the passengers problems this helpline whatsapp number (9971812121) will cater to needs and it will be monitored by the OSD to the civil aviation minister,” Babar added.
