SRINAGAR, Jan 26: The clear picture of peaceful Kashmir was once again witnessed on Friday as a sea of people participated in the 75th Republic Day celebration at Bakshi Stadium in the summer capital of Srinagar.

Reports reaching Kashmir Despatch stated that since morning, the lane towards Bakshi Stadium witnessed a massive rush of people from all walks of life.

Reports also mentioned that the participants were visibly excited, with smiles on their faces, indicating the peaceful environment of Naya Kashmir.

Eye witnesses told Kashmir Despatch that Bakshi Stadium witnessed a significant surge in attendance. Enthusiastic men, women, and children were seen queuing up outside the stadium to witness the parade.

An official informed Kashmir Despatch that it has been decades since such an unprecedented sight greeted Srinagar. Long queues formed outside the entry points of the primary venue for the 75th Republic Day function at Bakshi Stadium.

The official added that women, children, and the elderly patiently waited in line, eager to participate in the festivities.

According to the official, this development sends a clear message and sign of the peaceful environment in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The official credited the people for making this visible change and saving Kashmir from the enemies of peace.

Sadia (name changed), a young girl waiting in the long queues to witness the parade, told Kashmir Despatch that it is an occasion to celebrate the spirit of unity, freedom, and progress together.

She mentioned that she has participated in Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations for two consecutive years, not just for her country but also for her beloved Kashmir.

She further expressed her excitement for this moment and celebrating together with her fellow Indian citizens on this Republic Day.

Samad, an elderly man, told Kashmir Despatch that after a recent invitation from the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir to participate in the republic function, they were confident and encouraged to attend the event. He described the peaceful environment as ideal for celebrating the occasion with high spirits.

The recently refurbished stadium was filled with people. They witnessed the unfurling of the tricolor flag and the march past. Later, students and cadets from various schools and institutions presented cultural programs. The dry weather contributed to better participation.

The security arrangements were extensive, with multiple layers of security around the stadium, the main venue of the function. Over the past five years, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has made significant strides towards a peaceful environment and development on all fronts.

The people have been working hand in hand with the government for the past five years to make Kashmir one of the top states in India. Tourism has flourished, with an influx of tourists in recent years, writing a success story for Kashmir. The peaceful environment allows everyone to create their own story.
