BANDIPORA, Sep 1: Inspector general of Border Security Force of Kashmir zone Raja Babu Singh on Wednesday said that Border areas in Kashmir have played an important role in “saving the entire country”.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a programme regarding teachers day celebrations in Gurez valley of North Kashmir’s Bandipora District, Singh said that the border population was ignored earlier as the people would come to know only about the areas they were shown.
Speaking about the role of teacher in a student’s life, Singh said that although if Parents are the first teacher of a student, it is only the teacher who has the capability to show him the right path of how to live and a way to become successful in his or her life.
He also said that if the lawyer makes a mistake his mistake is reflected in files or if a doctor makes a mistake his mistake is buried on ground but if a teacher makes a mistake his mistake reflects in the whole society.
“Tourists who throng in Kashmir know that Kashmir is only about Gulmarag, Sonmarag and Pahalgam but they don’t know Kashmir is more than this,” he added.
He further said that Kashmir is changing now and since he took over as IG BSF, he has always been prioritizing border population as they are the country’s first line of defense and guard of borders.
