SDH Kupwara surroundings declared red zone

Kupwara, April 08: Amid growing scare of COVID-19 across Jammu and Kashmir, Authorities in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday took samples of 27 suspected persons.
A reliable source told Kashmir Despatch, Among 27 suspected persons few had close came in close contact with positive ones who were diagnosed last week in the district, while rest among them have travel history of different parts of the world.
Chief Medical Officer Kupwara Dr. Kounsar Amin talking to Kashmir Despatch said we have taken the samples of these persons who are suspected, he said these persons during quarantine shown some symptoms of COVID-19 post that samples were taken.
She said by keeping an eye over the rapid growth of COVID-19 in the border district we have taken an initiative by designating SDH Kupwara as an isolation hospital of 100 beds.
Dr. Amin said while designated SDH Kupwara as an isolation hospital and surroundings have been declared as red zone and OPD departments have been shifted nearby PHC’s including Sogam, Drugmal, etc.
Dr. Amin added we have taken necessary measures by updating roasters on a daily bases for our employees from different sections like Doctors, Medical staff and others.
