20 tested negative, 39 reports awaited

Sopore, April 09: An isolated religious group who were targeted for the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kashmir valley as they have attended the congregational meeting in Nizam-u-din Masjid in Delhi. Where they came in contact with foreign Tabligi Jamaat co-mates last month.
After the outbreak of COVID-19 in Kashmir valley, this religious group was suggested to be in self-quarantine and who else was having symptoms like COVID-19 were requested to come forward for further diagnosis and treatment. However, after the death of a renowned businessman from Sopore who was associated with Tablighi Jamaat, post that authorities in Sopore town framed an advisory towards the religious group who were in physical contact with the deceased victim.
A senior doctor in the department of health services confirmed to Kashmir Despatch that after the death of the first COVID-19 case, 59 Tabligi Jamaat associates were kept under quarantine and samples were taken from them for diagnosis.
The doctor added on Thursday we have received the reports of 20 members and would love to congratulate them as all were tested negative. Rest 39 reports are awaited.
