COVID, Encounters claim 4 Lives Daily In J&K, 109 Died in 28 Days

SRINAGAR June 28: At least 109 people have died by COVID-19 and encounters in Jammu and Kashmir for 28 days of June so far. This indicates encounters and coronavirus claim four lives daily in the Union Territory.

The number of deaths is far higher when compared with previous months.

As per the figures available with news agency (KINS), at least 14 militants were killed in May. However, the number of militants killed in June reached 44 so far. 

As per data, the first encounter took place at Saimoh area in south Kashmir’s Tral in which two militants were killed.

In the next gunfight on June 03 at Astan Mohalla Kangan area of Pulwama district, a top Jaish-e-Mohammad militant commander among three were killed.

On June 04, one militant was killed in Kalakote area in Rajouri district.

Similarly, on June 07, a top commander among five militants were killed in Reban area of Shopian in south Kashmir.

Four militants were killed in the Pinjora area of Shopian district on June 8. While on June 11, five militants were killed in Sungoo Hendhama area of Shopian district.

On June 13, two militants were killed in Nirpora area of Kulgam in south Kashmir.

Hibz commander among three militants were killed in Turkawangam area of Shopian district on June 16.

On June 18, three militants were killed in Meej Pampore area of Pulwama. Similarly, on June 18, five militants were killed in the Bandpawa area of Shopian.

One militant was killed in Likhidipora area of Kulgam on June 20.  On June 21, three militants were killed in Pozwalpora area of Zunimar in Srinagar.

On June 23, two militants were killed in the Bandzoo area of Pulwama. On June 25, two militants were killed in Hardshiva area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

While on June 26, three militants were killed in Chewa Ullar area of Tral in Pulwama District.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar recently said, “I had stated earlier that from next month, we will shift focus to north Kashmir. Let this month end first. In the remaining days, we will clean remaining militants from South and accordingly move to North,” he said.

Similarly, 65 COVID deaths have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir so far in 28 days of June.

Here are the details:

June 1: Three COVID deaths were reported including a 45-year-old man from Shopian, a 72-year-old man with comorbities from Doda district died of covid-19 at GMC Jammu and  70-year-old-man from Pulwama.

June 2: Two deaths reported both from Kashmir. An elderly woman from Baramulla returned positive, a day after her death, and a 27-year-old man from Lolab Kupwara.

June 3: An 86-year-old man died from Pattan Baramulla.

June 4: A 60-year-old man from Noorbagh area of Srinagar died of Covid-19 at CD hospital.

June 5: A 65-year-old woman from Srinagar died at SMHS.

June 06: Four COVID-19 deaths were reported in Jammu and Kashmir,  A 70-year-old patient from Baghat Barzaulla died at JLNM Rainawari,  A 70-year-old man from north Kashmir’s Kupwara,  a 70-year-old man from Shopian and another 62-years-old from Jammu.

June 08: Five deaths due to COVID-19 were reported. A 70-year-old woman from Baramulla, a 55-year-old Pampore resident, a 65-year-old man from Handwara died at CD hospital, a 40-year-old paramilitary CRPF trooper and a 35-year-old resident of Khaniyar Srinagar.

June 9: Five persons died due to this virus. A 31-year-old covid-19 patient from Kulgam. A 52-year-old man from Sopore, a 60-year-old Pulwama man, a 70-year-old covid-19 patient from Panzath village in Qazigund, a 70 year-old man from Sopore.

June 11: A 62-year-old woman, from Kulgam district of south Kashmir died at SKIMS.

June 12: A 65-year-old man from Rajouri of Jammu Division.

 June 13: J&K reported three deaths due covid-19. A 74-year-old retired doctor from Srinagar, a 60-year-old resident from Shopian and a 75-year-old from Baramulla.

June 14: Two dead including a 69-year-old man from Gandhi Nagar and 85 year-old man from Kupwara.

June 15: Four deaths: An 18-year-old covid-19 patient from Handwara, a 27 year-old Lolab resident, 80-year-old resident of Shopian and 70-year-old Chadoora resident.

June 17: A 65-year-old man from Shopian and a 70-year-old- from Baramulla.

June 18: Nine deaths were reported including 65 year-old man from Shopian, a 70-year-old man from Baramulla, a 65-year old woman from Batmaloo, a 70-year old Budgam resident, a 65-year-old COVID-19 patient from Tallab Tillo Jammu, a 68-year-old man from Akhnoor Jammu,  65-year old man  from Feripora area of Shopian, 80 year-old man from Srinagar, 55-year-old man from Shopian.

June 19: Four deaths: A 79-year old man from Nowshera Srinagar, an 80-year-old man from Sopore, 15 days old boy from Bemina Srinagar and 80-year-old man from Shopian.

June 20: Four deaths. A 40-year-old from Safakadal Srinagar, a 55-year-old from Pulwama, 80-year-old woman from Kulgam, 65-year-old from Budgam.

June 21: Two deaths: A 60-year-old COVID-19 patient from south Kashmir’s Kulgam district and 51-year old from Kupwara district.

June 22: Two deaths: A 58-year-old man from Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag and 65-year-old man from Pulwama.

June 23: Two deaths:  A 58-year-old woman from Nathipora Srinagar and An 85-year-old covid-19 positive man from Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

June 24: A 48-year-old covid-19 positive woman from Barzulla Srinagar.

June 25: Three deaths.  A 65-year-old woman from Budgam died at SKIMS, a 75-year-old man from Mehjoor Nagar and a 57-year-old man from Poonch of Jammu division.

June 27: Three deaths. A 70-year-old woman from Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla, a 70-year-old man from Mishipora died at CD hospital, a 45-year-old woman from Khanabal South Kashmir.(KINS)
