Day 2 : Sopore youth’s suicide, rescue operation continue to retrieve the body from river jehlum

Sopore, Oct 23 : Search and rescue operation enters into second day to locate the body of youth who allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river jehlum on Wednesday evening in north Kashmir’s Sopore town.

According to Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, the teams of police, SDRF, Navy and locals on Friday morning resumed rescue operation to retrieve the body from river jehlum.

Station house officer Sopore Azim Iqbal told Kashmir Despatch that efforts are on to retrieve the body from the river, he added that a case has already been registered and further investigation has set into motion.

Pertinently, on Wednesday evening a 12-year-old a class 8th student identified as Shahid Nazir Changal son of Nazir Ahmad Changal of Ahadbab crossing jumped into the river from bypass bridge.

According to sources the boy had some issue with family, left home and then called them and shared his location, then after family reached to the spot he jumped into river jehlum sources added.
