DDC Kupwara reviews progress of District Hospital, Health Centres

Kupwara, November 21: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened a meeting of concerned Officers to review the functioning of District Hospital Handwara and hospital projects being executed by J&K Housing Board.
The meeting discussed threadbare  various issues relating to better functioning of District Hospital Handwara , in view of  on-going construction of  new building of District Hospital.The DDC directed the executing  agency (JK Housing Board) to expedite the construction works of the hospital building. 
The DDC was informed that Rs.22 crore have been spent so for on the execution of Rs.40 Crore District Hospital Handwara and the work is in progress.  
The DDC also resolved many other issues on spots including functioning of Solar Plant, High mast light and smooth water supply in the District  Hospital Handwara. The DDC issued on spot direction to the officers of PHE,JAKEDA  and PDD  to resolve the issues with Hospital.
The DDC also reviewed the status of construction of New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC)  Devar and Kalaroos, which are being constructed at a cost of  about Rs.2 Crore each. The DDC asked concerned Engineers to ensure fencing   of the Hospital.
  The DDC also reviewed pace and progress of Health and Wellness Centres and was informed that out of on-going 17 such Centres 2 have been handed over to the hospital administration, 8 Centres are at final stage, while as 7 others are  progressing at different stages of completion.
Among others Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed, District Health Officer, Medical Superintendent DH Handwara, Engineers of J&K Housing Board and JAKEDA, were present in the meeting.
