Bandipora, Jan 24: The newly elected district development council member Abdul Ghani Wani and BDC chairperson Bashir Ahmad Baba Sunday evacuated a lady patient from snow bound village in Bandipora district and shifter her to nearby healthcare facility.
In a statement, spokesperson said that both DDC member and BDC chairman got a distress call from Hudbal village of Buthoo in Bandipora that a lady patients needs to be evacuated to hospital, however, due to heavy snowfall in the area the road was closed.
“They immediately reached Hudbal village and evacuated the patient to the hospital in their personal vehicle and also provided them with necessary aid,” he said.
He said that the goodwill gesture shown by the DDC member and BDC chairperson was appreciated by the locals and family members of the patient.
He further said that meanwhile, both DDC member and BDC chairperson also visited several villages of their constituency to take stock of the situation after recent heavy snowfall in the area.
