Srinagar November 02: Director Horticulture Kashmir Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, KAS on Monday inaugurated Grading Line under Private sector near Fruit and Vegetable Mandi Pachhar established by a Progressive fruit grower. He was accompanied by officers of Horticulture Department, Entrepreneurs and other stakeholders. During the interaction with the fruit growers he advised the farmers to ensure proper grading of their produce to fetch remunerative prices. He laid stress upon the farming community and the Entrepreneurs for establishment of such grading lines which will ensure proper standard of apple produce will fetch better returns to the farming community while marketing their produce. In order to provide grading facility to the fruit growers, Government will incentivize the establishment of grading lines in future.
Later Director Horticulture visited Fruit and Vegetable Mandi Aarhama Shopian in connection with procurement of Apple under Market Intervention Scheme. He was accompanied by Chief Horticulture officer, Area Marketing officer and President Fruit Association Shopian. Director highlighted the benefits of the scheme and encouraged the growers to avail benefits under such scheme to get remunerative prices for their produce.
