Srinagar, April 14: As the whole world is fighting a war with Invisible Enemy, the enemy which we can’t see but we can tackle it by proper understanding the ill effects of it and by following the procedural protocols issued by World Health Organization and Government of India.
As it is evident to the common eye, the rapid growth of Coronavirus is adding more anxiety among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. By far, residents have shown the proper sense of judgment by blocking roads to stop the unnecessary movement of people.
Kashmir Despatch received inputs from different parts of the valley that people finally took seriously this deadly virus and by themselves have stopped the unnecessary movement by blocking maximum ring roads of their colonies across Kashmir.
Farooq Ahmad a Sopore resident in a conversation with Kashmir Despatch said we have taken down the initiative to block the main road which connects our area with the town in an aim to stop the unnecessary public movement, as people were violating the norms which were not only a threat for them but the whole area so we decided to stop this irresponsible behavior of people by blocking the roads.
Mehraj-Ul-Din, a Baramulla resident told this newspaper over the phone, we are responsible citizens and are worried about our coming generations. By keeping an eye rapid growth of COVID-19 and unnecessary acts done by the general public by defying lockdown orders we residents decided to block inner roads to stop public movement as a precautionary measure.
Adil Ahmad a Srinagar resident commented over the blockade of roads by saying people were defying orders due to which most numbers of the public got contaminated and the whole city is under threat so, people themselves now decided to tackle with these miscreants who use to travel unnecessarily. He said it’s time to wake up if not now than never.
There are also reports at few locations roads were blocked illegally resulting inconvenience to the general public at this spare of time, which later district administration Srinagar clarified through a tweet as saying two-three exit, entry points are kept open in all the red zones for essential services, movement of people or officials, surveillance and emergency teams stationed locally.

The district administration Srinagar tweet further reads that several instances of damage/ removal of barricades during nights necessitated locking few locations.

Divisional commissioner Kashmir Mr. Pandurang Kondbarao Pole told Kashmir Despatch over the phone, we should appreciate the efforts of people as they are showing some better sign of judgment by cooperating with authorities over lockdown procedure. He said COVID-19 is a war between mankind Vs invisible enemy and the way people stood up is a clear cut indication that we are heading towards the right direction.
When asked about the blockade of roads he said it’s a precautionary measure whenever an emergency arises at that time administration will do its part.
