Ganderbal, July 4: A driver sustained injuries after a goods vehicle laden with vegetables overturned near Gund on the Srinagar–Sonamarg Highway in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Saturday.
Officials said the vehicle (Registration No. JK03N-2837) was travelling from Srinagar towards Sonamarg when the driver allegedly lost control, causing the truck to overturn along the roadside. The accident left the driver injured and scattered the vegetables across the highway.
The injured driver was provided first aid at the scene before being shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. His condition is reported to be stable.
Meanwhile, Station House Officer (SHO) Gund, Raees Ahmad, accompanied by a police team, reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation while ensuring the smooth movement of traffic.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
